A recap of the past weekend in sports, by Austin Pirkle

Eder Clinches Portugal’s First Title

As the Euro Cup Final was heading towards an inevitable penalty shootout, the Portuguese substitute striker completely flipped the script with a brilliant individual effort to shock the host France and score the biggest goal in his country’s history.

Jose Reyes Goes Yard, Twice

In his second stint with the New York Mets, Reyes is making quite an impression since coming back home. He opened Sunday's game with two straight bombs.

Save The Food, Please

No concession is safe as this fan decides to use her plate of food as protection for an incoming foul ball. To no one’s surprise, the tray of ballpark cuisine didn’t stand much of a chance.

Astros Walk Off With Some Help

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. That was the case for the Astros as a slight misthrowfrom the Oakland third baseman allowed the winning run across the plate.

Gold Glove From The Stands

Catching foul balls is an integral part of the fan experience. This Brewers’ fan was not taking no for an answer as he goes parallel across the dugout and makes the grab. Is there an open slot for this week’s All-Star Game? Because I’ve found a worthy fill-in.

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

July 12th

Way back when, 115 years ago to be exact, Cy Young won his 300th game on this day. You can understand why the best pitchers’ award is named after this legend.

July 13th

On this day in 1996, arguably the greatest running back ever, Jim Brown, hung up the cleats at just 29 years of age. The poor Cleveland Browns could use another player like that in the present time.
