Redemption for Neymar

Two years removed from being embarrassed at the hands of Germany in the World Cup Semifinal, Brazil beat Germany on penalties to capture the country’s first gold medal in front of their home fans. While the rosters are made up of mostly younger, lesser known players, the Brazilian superstar Neymar was in the squad and as fate would have it he scored the winning penalty kick. The emotion on his face says it all.

USA Dominates 400m Relay, Again

The Americans came into the Olympics as the defending champs in the 4x400 relay. They leave the games with that same title. Both the men andwomen’s relay team cruised to victory. Talk about dominating a competition. Shop from an array of olympic moments, here.

Michael Lorenzen Emotional HR

Just days after his father passed away, relief pitcher Michael Lorenzen came into the game and got his team out of the inning. In addition, Lorenzen stepped up to the plate for just the fourth time this season and hit the first pitch into the stands. A powerful moment that makes sports so special.

Inside the Park Walk-Off

If you want excitement in baseball, look no further than the Indians walk-off win this weekend. After being down entering the bottom of the 9th, Cleveland not only came back to tie the game, but won it on an inside the park homer off the wall.

Little League Double Play

The best of the best in Little League come together once again this summer. And these kids can play. That was on full display with this youngster tracking down a fly ball and then gunning out the opposition’s player at the plate for a sweet highlight.

 

Looking ahead, looking back...

August 22

On this day 13 years ago, Sammy Sosa hit his 500th HR. That was also his 30th home run of the season and the ninth straight season he reached that mark.

August 25

Another slugger from the same generation hit his very first HR of his career on this day 30 years ago. That man is no other than MLB legend Mark McGwire.
